We have had a bunch of recalls performed, and the head unit is glitchy all the time (especially with Carplay), although with the latest update it has improved. Panels not aligned well, still a lot of hard plastics for an expensive van, etc. Overall we have been happy but the fit and finish is an issue. The 10 speed transmission does not seem to have the issues the 9 speed has had. The 2018 has been the least reliable, but we have not had major issues either. Over 15 years of Odyssey ownership and hundreds of thousands of miles. I have owned a 2018 Odyssey Touring (10 speed transmission) and previous to that we have owned two prior generations. and others will choose based on the look, they like. some will really like lots of AWD Pac models for 2021. Some will prefer Honda's general long standing and better reliability numbers. Both vans are very good with similar performance, but with very different "looks". My conclusion is, this article is a lot of hype about nothing. Next - I've also gotten on a flat level freeway, then cleared the mpg gauge, and driven with great care (no cruise control) at approx 60 mph trying to use as little gas as possible to get my highest hwy mpg, and all I've gotten so far is 31.2 mpg over 25 miles. In fact, I find it almost impossible to get near the City #'s that Chrysler (EPA) says, and that's when I'm doing very careful city driving.

The Pac is fun (and easy) to drive aggressively and I've done that around town, and also spinning around snowy parking lots, and get mpg figures almost as low as what they report. I've only had my AWD a few months, but I've been testing it quite a bit. but they also give their Highway figure as 33 mpg which is really high !!!Ī 20 mpg difference between city and highway. Regarding the mpg figure, I agree the City figure of 13 mpg is really low. So my conclusion is both van are very close, pick the one you like best, as most all of us did who are here and they say both these low scores are due to "in-car electronics". It's because apparently CR gave the Pac an "Owner Satisfaction" score of 50/100 and the Ody a score of 38/100. Anyway the author comes to this subjective conclusion with pretty small data. CR wouldn't generally use a word like that, it's too subjective, and they're usually more objective. this article is someone at MB who is trying to make a point.

Trust is a strange word for an automotive magazine to use. it's Motor Biscuit who is saying "trust the Pac more than the Ody". And that's fine, MB says many times in the article they're making conclusions based on the CR article. And duh (sorry, I'm slow) this is NOT an article from CR - it's an article from Motor Biscuit, that talks about the CR article (which I haven't read). But as soon as I started reading it, I thought THIS doesn't "sound" like a CR article. To me, this is a "weird article", I didn't read the OP closely and "assumed from the thread title" that Consumer Reports is saying to trust the Pacifica more than the Odyssey.
